I find it funny when someone labels the “younger” generations with statements like these. The “older” generations were so perfect, we are just a lazy bunch of idiots with nothing saved away and no direction. Give me a break, a person is a person regardless of a generation. I am a “young” person who is very responsible financially. I also know many “older” people who are horrible with their money.

Some of what is being said her is so Pooh Pooh. I have a 1996 Jeep and a 2005 Mercury and I keep cars till the boneyard. So don’t let anyone tell you that you are moving too fast. You go Melissa! I have had Tracfone for many years now and I feel the need to upgrade. It’s the only way to keep up with what we need to. You are Medium and always on the go…so GO for it! Don’t worry about what others think. Do what you need to do to keep it up.

Scott, I’ll let you in on a little secret. Yes, we have cell phones and cars, but we also have homes, 401Ks and bank accounts. We don’t sit around waiting for our parents to die and give us a house. See, the thing is, smart people spend a much lower percent of income on things that are here today and gone tomorrow, and save a little for tough times.

the best way to leave this earth is with 30 yrs left on your mortgage, 5 yrs left on the car, and nothing in the bank. live. you cant spend it from the grave.

The younger generations are bankrupting themselves with cell phone bills and car payments. They never put anything away for a rainy day.
