Never had much luck with irises, yet my late mom could grow them- i swear- by looking at them. We mainly had the classic blue ones, but had some yellows as well. Mount Upton for years had iris gardens tended by the late Mert Brownell.

Melissa, I mention these comments not as instruction of to you, but as an acknowledgement of your having learned a great lesson in life.

Life has a way of reminding us of our own miniscule nature in the overall scheme of things.

As a child our world is defined by our view of how time affects us. Time is a huge factor in our life as it seems to define our existence. We are told to wait until we grow up.

As we grow into our mature selves we become consumed by the events of our life and time, the eternal constant, becomes transparent. We use time to accomplish our desires and are totally unaware of its passage..

When we arrive at our mature days, we see time as more of a substance like any other resource in our lives. Then we see time as something we can lose and gain. We then see time as a limit, and not in the infinite.

Take a momentin your lfie to reflect on time and how it flows on by. By doing so, you will always be grounded in reality and you will be happier and healthier.

The flowers of your calender are a reminder of your mortality. It is wise you reflect on that and live with a true purpose.

This blog entry is simply gorgeous.
Impermanence.
Each flip of the page might leave one month in the past,
But that same flip opens yet another new horizon,
In blossom just for you.
Impermanence cuts both ways.
Very nice post, Ms. Stagnaro...
