You have the dad who swears like a sailer, but has a big heart (who didn’t have that dad?) You got the overly caring mother, and get to see Christmas through a kids eyes which everyone can still remember. I love the movie and make a point to watch it at least once every Christmas season. It’s funny, poinant, and reminds viewers of younger times.

It’s a great Christmas movie, but you’d probably be more inspired if you’d ever been a little boy. For a woman I think “A Wonderful Life” has a more heart-tugging story line.

That said, don’t deprive yourself of the “Christmas Story” movie. Won’t you be sorry if you have to go on wondering if it was worth it, and to “get” all those references properly they MUST be seen.
