I can't say that I agree with you. We need to brake the cycle of crime in our community. The only person that is not a victim would be the criminals, they need to be taken out of our community and put in prison for a long time. The time for sympathy is over. We are living in the middle of a drug epidemic in Norwich and the time to fix it is now. These criminals have had there 1st, 2nd and last chances. I am happy that they might lose there families this will give there children a second chance. I would rather spend our tax dollars to help these kids than to pay for them when they are sent to prison like there Dads when they become adult criminals. Look at the big problem and lets be more proactive. We now use the band aid approach on our community problems.

If a person bears false witness it is a crime. If Adam was the victim of this, there should be an investigation, and possibly charges. This is if the false witness is intentional. If there is any room for doubt, it will, unfortunately be dropped without action.
This last post certainly brings the topic to light.

This is a very good point and one that needs to be seen from both sides. Way too often the public eye is so fixated of the accused that not only their families but the victims as well are forgotten. You think about the number of children that are made to face society and peers in school after a parent does horrible things, can you imagine what it must be like? Again on the other side, take children of abuse, they have their lives torn apart, trust in mankind taken away, and when they plead for someone to help them they get looked down on. Sure they may convict the one that hurt them, but the child lives with the tag of an abused child their whole lives and are whispered about. I think more people should see what the true pain and agony the people behind the court cases feel and live. Compassion is something that there is just not enough of in this world. If we stop loving and caring for man kind, I fear we are all in for a huge down fall. Good for you Tyler--make people listen and see that we really need to start caring what happens to our neighbors, and plead that the children are protected.

In life, we have chouces to make every day. In our choices we often do not have time, or else, do not take the time to think about the consequences. Most of the time, we make our decision and all is well. Occasionally our decision is not as wise as it should be, or else we make a decision that is just plain wrong. The shame is that in our decision making we forgot our friends, family and loved ones. Such is the case that is described here. The pain is real, the sadness is real. In an act of pure stupidity, we create victims, even if we never touched a soul. I pray for the family of the accused as they will bear a great deal of the pain associated with this matter.

Crowd watching in the courtroom does offer room to ponder one’s social composition. The fly on the wall, I used to eavesdrop on the conversation of defendants’ family. I did feel sorry for the children who were dragged to sentencing, but most of the time I listened to how family members felt that the crime committed was everyone’s fault but the person who they came to support. Multiple judges, the DA’s office and the apprehending police are repeatedly lambasted in smoke-hazed courthouse stairs roasts. For those behind the defendant, there is much room for sympathy, but I often remember thinking there should have been more room for them to hash-out some tough love.
