The fun of being a kid
Has anyone ever woken up in the morning, looked in the mirror and just decided that they want to turn the clock back about 10 years? Well if not go to the fair and you just might. The fair is kind of like birthdays, as you age it just seems as if it were just so much more fun when you were little. The rides seemed magical and enlightening, the food always smelled unfamiliar but delicious, the cotton candy and ice cream seemed endless. But, as time passes it is funny to go to the fair and realize that you see it in a whole new light. You see the cotton candy and you wonder how much dental work you are gonna need, you smell the food and see the roller coasters and wonder if the trash cans are going to be at your disposal after descending from the ride. It is fascinating to be a kid, to be unknowing and uncaring of any cost, or the consequences of eating a corn dog and then riding the zipper. To kids the fair is all about having fun, winning prizes, seeing the shows, riding the craziest rides and if they really have a good time they come home sweaty, sticky, and have vomit on their shoes. Now that’s what the fair is all about. I know with my own kids the grosser they are shows me that they had a great time. It is just so funny to see them and really realize that the fair no matter the cost, the time, or the hassle it may be to take all 43 children or how many ever you may have going to the fair is worth it because sooner or later your children grow up and then they too will never be able to look at cotton candy the same way.
