NYRI spokesperson Jon Pierce confirmed that Albany lobbyist Pat Lynch, after only a few weeks on the job, is no longer at the service of the private power line investors and developers. Pierce said the split was mutual, and that it came as a result of legislation passing the state Assembly June 23 that could block NYRI’s use of eminent domain. Still no word from Pat Lynch.

People keep talking about flood insurance and its importance. It seems unfair to hear stories about people paying this insurance for years without experiencing any flooding, then when a flood does come and it destroys a home or business, the insurance provider doesn’t want to pay the full amount, and then drops the insured customer because they called to collect. They say it’s business but it appears cruel, and in most cases it is now mandatory cruelty.
