What a week

Michael McGuire

I’m glad that week is over. Being too big for my car and having wet socks are the two things I currently hate most in this world, and racing around in both of them seemed to dominate my life from Tuesday night to the present while covering the flood.

More important than a few personal problems with my car and my feet, I’m glad that week is over because people can begin to start over. Some have lost their homes, their livelihoods, and people they love. Hopefully they don’t lose the motivation to rebuild, hopefully they don’t lose the motivation to move on. I know the hardest part for me in times of self peril is finding a place to start.

Someone once told me that you have to move forward or backward, but we can never stay in the same place. Hopefully people can find the strength to move ahead.
